If there something you don’t recognise on your credit report, try the following:
1. Search for the company name on a search engine
Lenders can use a different trading name when sharing their information. Do a quick internet search to rule out this possibility.
2. Check the opening date and payment history of the account
This could provide you with a sign of which of your accounts this may be. Sometimes an old account can appear on your credit report as new when there's an update.
3. Check the account number displayed on the account
If it doesn’t match any of your financial accounts, you can raise a dispute. You can raise a dispute by using our chat messenger. Our partner credit bureau illion, will be able to look into this for you.
4. Contact the lender or provider
They'll freeze your card/account and start a fraud investigation.
